Quick Lime & Hydrated Lime
Benefits: Lime is widely used as softener for the precipitation of magnesium compounds and for the removal of carbonate hardness. For the removal of turbidity, it may be applied to hard water as a coagulant, and it is used extensively to produce the proper pH zone for maximum coagulation results.
Benefits: Alum functions as an excellent primary coagulant. Through charge neutralization and flocculation in raw water as well as in waste water, alum removes Turbidity, Suspended Solids, Total Organic Carbon (TOC) and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD).
pH Neutralization with Acid
Benefits: The selection of an appropriate pH neutralization acid depends on the particular application. Frequently used acids used in wastewater treatment are Sulfuric Acid, Hydrochloric Acid and Sodium Hydroxide. Hydrochloric Acid is also used to control odors in wastewater

Benefits: Caustic soda (Sodium Hydroxide, or NaOH) is a commonly used water treatment chemical that raises the pH of water by absorbing water and carbon dioxide. The most widely used alkaline neutralizing chemical in use in industry today are Caustic Soda, Lime Slurry, Soda Ash and Magnesium Hydroxide
Benefits: Chemical coagulants used to coagulate colloidal materials in water treatment fall into two main categories – Organic & Inorganic. Organic Coagulants are most effective at treating water with high turbidity whereas inorganic coagulants are often more cost-effective but particularly effective at treating raw water with low turbidity, and can be used when organic coagulants prove insufficient.
Polyelectrolyte – Flocculants
Benefits: Poly-electrolytes are water-soluble polymers carrying ionic charge along the polymer chain. Depending upon the charge, these polymers are anionic or cationic and are available in a wide range of molecular weights and charge densities. Poly-electrolytes increases the flocculation efficiency of the coagulants thereby reducing the amount of coagulant required for the treatment.

They are classified as: anodic, cathodic, film-forming and oxygen-absorbing agents depending on their mode of action. The effectiveness may be affected by the water’s chemical properties and by physical conditions such as temperature and flow velocity
